At the Anun we have lots of opportunities for Children – for fun learning and craft activities throughout the year!
Creative Crafts for Children
Creative Craft Club meets 6 times a year in half term and the school Christmas, Easter and Summer breaks. Children come with their parents or careers and spend about an hour and a half together.
We always have our favourite crafts of junk modelling and play dough and we also provide two other craft activities at each session. These have ranged from fluffy eggs to Easter Gardens, animal masks and owls and, at Christmas, biscuit Christmas trees, angels and Christmas cards. We have made bird feeders, penguins, sheep, cats, butterflies and tractors.
We aim for activities for those around 6, 7 and 8 but younger and older siblings are always welcome and come along and join in the fun. We provide healthy drinks and snacks for the kids and tea and coffee for adults and it’s all free!
Creative Craft Takeaway Bags
Since the Lockdown began we’ve had to be creative in how we share our craft activities. Now all of our creative craft sessions are available in takeaway bags which you can enjoy at home!
Craft bags are available for collection throughout the year at the church door – keep an eye out on our News page or the Hanover Community Notice Board on Facebook for times!
Creative Crafts at Easter
At Easter our crafts are themed around the Easter story, with a focus on spring, nature and the story of the Resurrection.
This year we have knitted easter chicks available, containing creme eggs!
Creative Crafts Does Christmas
At Christmas we focus on the Christmas story, where children can pop in and out of various craft activities with parents, and make costumes to take part in the drama of the Nativity. Cedric the Camel makes a special guest appearance!
Sea Cadets
In addition to our Children’s activitives in church, we also provide chaplaincy to the local Brighton Sea Cadet Unit.
‘At Brighton we aim to give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment. Through various activities and adventures, we learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of ourselves.’
Child Safeguarding Policy
At The Anun we take safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults seriously, and do all we can to ensure that our church is a safe place for all. Our Safeguarding lead is Mrs Susan Worton; if you have any concerns please make these known to the Vicar or Susan and they will be taken seriously and in confidence.
